when lee first e-mailed me to set up her session, she wrote “your photography style and my personal style mesh.” that’s when i knew we were going to get along quite well, and i was right! we appreciated a similar aesthetic, and i loved that she was willing to be different and not do exactly what everyone else was doing! lee needed some fun, casual photos of herself to use for online stuff, so we headed out to noe valley for her shoot, which was her idea. it was a great little spot – lots of color and charm, and the storefronts were so cute! i had fun walking around with her and just hanging out with her!
some faves 🙂
we both dug the purple walls in front of this cafe!
i LOVED this blue door! it just pops, and her purse looks awesome in front of it!
we both saw these banners and said “let’s shoot in front of them!” woot! 🙂
funny story: we were shooting in this doorway, and one of the occupants of the building came out. she gave us a weird look, but she was fine with it.
i love this top! lee bought it while she was waiting for me.
thanks, lee! it was a blast!
this is ianna. she’s a load of fun and absolutely fabulous! she is also an aspiring model, so she asked me if i could take some shots to get her portfolio started. i obliged, and glad i did, because the camera absolutely ADORED her! she was also DELIGHT to shoot, and i loved the fact that she was willing to try out my ideas, but also had a ton of her own. we spent a few hours cruising the streets of north beach, and even went to the library and playground.
here are my favorites from her session!
how to coax a laugh out of your clients: do something clumsy, like trip. i never fail to do something equally klutzy at every shoot.
i LOVE LOVE LOVE how her purse contrasted with the blue wall!!! what a perfect color combination.
i was loving the light at this point!
she totally ROCKED the pearl necklaces!
thank you so much for an awesome shoot, ianna! good luck in your modeling career – i’m sure you’re going to rock it!
i loved spending an afternoon with the patel family! kala is the aunt of rakhee, one of my earlier clients. she contacted me for some family portraits and i was happy to take them forher! this was a super fun family – i really, really loved the way they interacted with each other. they were also not afraid to be silly, which i LOVE! it was so fun to be able to capture their love for each other on film. i have so many favorites from their shoot!!
this one cracks me up SO MUCH!!! love it!
it was super cold the day of the shoot, but they were willing to spend some time shooting at the beach (and i think they had fun there, despite the chilly weather)!
(check out all the fog in the background! just your typical san franciscan summer day, i guess!)
the girls are BEAUTIFUL!
mom is also GORGEOUS!
dad is a total ham 🙂
and mom and dad together and just ADORABLE!! loved watching them get all mushy for the camera 🙂 awwww!!
thank you guys so much for letting me chase you around with a camera! i had a great time!
i met up with tiffani and chad at the japanese tea garden in golden gate park…it was on a foggy, chilly san francisco day. unfortunately, these two had just driven up from fremont, where it was 90 degrees. the temperature at golden gate park, known to be one of the foggier areas of san francisco, was probably below 60. the poor things were both FREEZING, but they were troopers – we not only ran around the tea garden, we walked around a couple of the surrounding areas of the park as well, and managed to get some cute shots! here are a few of my favorites:
(the above photo might just by favorite from their session…although, i fell into the pond not once, but TWICE while backing up to get these bridge shots. i am a klutz)
thanks, tiffani and chad! you guys are adorable! hope you were able to warm up after your shoot!
i’m currently in so-cal right now, visiting friends and family. one of the things i really wanted to do here was go to the beach and have a bonfire, since it’s generally too cold for that up north. we headed out to huntington beach today, and while there, i snuck in a little mini shoot with my friends mario and jen. it was around sunset time, and the light was gorgeous and glowy, and the sun was in the perfect position!
i just HAD to edit these and pose them upon seeing them. they are soooo adorable together, and completely in love.
here’s one funny one of mario and his baywatch pose, lol
thanks for posing for me, guys!
are these two not the most adorable siblings ever?
i spent some time at the park with these two.
connor looks adorable in his glasses!
and without, too!
katie is just the best big sister…
i got to spend one saturday afternoon with sima in the mission – it was fun to be able to shoot in a place with such color, funkiness, texture, amazing murals and great architecture. sima was also the perfect photo subject. she’s gorgeous and i was absolutely in love with that awesome top she was wearing! here are some of my favorites from her shoot!
i’ve been dying to shoot with this mosaic wall ever since i first laid eyes on it:
i spotted these train tracks, and since the next train wasn’t coming for awhile, we decided to shoot on them for a little bit…
